Written by Lakin Steedly The craze of avocados is simply not over. Avocados are used for so many different additions to food, bases of dishes, or even as a topping. My personal favorite way to eat avocado is on toast with a hint of salt and pepper. Others eat them stuffed, cooked, in scrambled eggs, pasta, or even as a substitute for mayo! So many new ways are coming out each day and new creations are being made on how to add avocado. Less traditionally; avocado pudding, avocado hummus, avocado smoothies, or avocado fries. Avocados are a BIG source of potassium, fiber, and heart healthy-monounsaturated fats, as well as being low in cholesterol and having so many more benefits! Depending on the avocados that you buy at the store and how ripe they are; they last from 1-3 days or even 3-5 days. There is some confusion as to how they are stored; they can be kept in the fridge or just sit out in the pantry! If you only use half or parts of the avocado try to preserve it to last longer by putting some drops of acidic lemon or lime juice on the top to prevent browning! Put it in a tightly sealed container or wrap it up in foil or saran wrap.
Good luck on all your avocado adventures! See the attached article for more ways to use avocados within your next home meal… https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/23-ways-to-eat-avocados#section1
